Health Services to the community
  1. Prof. YK Sarin attended patients in OPD and operated in free operative camp at Ujjain under the banner NGO Chikitsa Sansar in February 2010.
Lab Data
  1. Department of Pediatric Urodynamics Laboratory under the supervision of Prof. YK Sarin performed cystometry and uroflowmetry on 84 patients. Dr. Shalini Sinha and MCh resident Dr. BV Raghunath were responsible for the smooth running of the Lab in the absence of any Lab technician
New Facility Added
  1. A new air-conditioned ward was allocated on 6th floor of the Accident and Emergency block in the vicinity of the elective and Emergency OT complexes.
  2. The Department was allocated 11 OT tables a week instead of pre-existing 4 OT tables a week.
  3. The Department acquired Harmonic scalpel, new Pediatric Urology set, new rigid bronchoscopic sets, flexible bronchoscopy set, and endotariner.

  1. Prof. Y. K. Sarin visited Department of Pediatric Surgery, Children's Hospital, Boston, USA as visiting faculty for two weeks in October 2010.
  2. Prof. S. K. Aggarwal and Dr. SK Sinha delivered the following lectures on IGNOU Channel Gyan Drashan as part of DNB teleconferencing teaching:
    • Management of stricture Urethra in children I: Clinical aspects
    • Management of stricture Urethra in children II: Operative aspects
    • Management of Hypospadias II: Video presentation
    • Management of CDH
    • Prof. Y. K. Sarin is reviewer to many national and international Journals including Indian Journal of Urology, Indian Pediatrics, Indian Journal of Pediatrics, Journal of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, Indian Journal of Surgery and Urology Annals.
    • Prof. S. K. Aggarwal, Dr. SK Ratan are reviewers for Journal of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons.
    • Dr. SK Ratan is also reviewer for Indian Journal of Pediatrics.
    • All the MCh students have attended the PG Surgical Skills Course conducted by the PG MED Education Cell MAMC. Dr. Mohit Mathur won the Appreciation Prize in laparoscopic Skills.
